About
Xtal DOS 2.01 and Xtal BASIC 5.00 together, from Xtal Research of Torquay, launched in September 1985 at sixty nine pounds including VAT. From 1988 it was "EXCLUSIVELY available through B & H", bundled with the compiler at forty pounds.
This was the serious upgrade for Einstein owners who used the machine for work: a faster, larger BASIC and a better DOS than the ones in ROM.
We Have the Manuals but Not the Discs
The library holds the Xtal System 5.0 manual and the compiler manual. The software itself is missing. Having the documentation for a system nobody can run is a frustrating position to be in.
Can You Help?
If you have an Xtal System 5 disc, please get in touch. We would image it, send you the images, and credit you here.
