About

Despite the name, this is not a game. It is a Xtal software development disc for the Tatung Einstein, holding a BASIC compiler, an editor, an assembler and supporting utilities.

The programs identify themselves when run. XC.COM reports "Xtal BASIC Compiler Ver 5.10, (c) Xtal 1987". AUTO.COM reports "Xtal AUTOGEN 2.11". XED.COM is an editor, XSM.COM an assembler producing ASM, HEX and PRN output, and XBAS.COM is Xtal BASIC 5.02, reporting "Xtal BASIC 5.02 (C) 1983/84/85". The compiler's manual is in the library as the Xtal BASIC Compiler 5.10 Manual. TEST.DOC is documentation covering the REPEAT and UNTIL commands.

Three BASIC programs are also present: Fruit, Gruff and Hangman. Gruff carries the line "GRUFF COPYRIGHT Crystal Electronics". This Hangman is a smaller and quite different program from the one on the Einstein's own master disc, and carries none of Tatung's house banners.

The 1987 date on the compiler places this disc well after the machine's launch.
