Crystal Research

Crystal Research is credited with several Xtal BASIC items in this archive - "Additions to Xtal BASIC", the "Xtal BASIC Compiler Version 5.0" and the "Xtal System 5.0 Manual" - all dated the mid-1980s. Xtal BASIC and Xtal DOS were the CP/M-compatible operating system and BASIC interpreter built into every Tatung Einstein, originally developed by Crystal Computers of Torquay; the closely related Xtal-branded compiler and system extensions here suggest Crystal Research was the same firm, or a directly linked division, continuing to develop and document that core system software.
