About

In 1986 Syntaxsoft announced a mouse, a frame grabber and a hard disc for the Einstein, together with a book called the "Einstein 256 Companion".

Syntaxsoft were not idle boasters: they had already delivered the Speculator, which worked and sold well. That makes their announcements harder to dismiss than most, and worth chasing.

Announced Only

None of these is known to have been released. A frame grabber in particular would have been an unusual thing to attach to an eight bit micro.

The "Einstein 256 Companion" may be the same book as the Programmer's Guide to the Einstein 256, which Syntaxsoft did publish, or it may be a second title.

Can You Help?

If you have any Syntaxsoft hardware beyond the Speculator, or any of their literature, please get in touch.
