About

In May 1986 The Brain reported that Keith Hook was "preparing a book on programming the new computer". By later that year Einstein User was reporting it as fact: "A programmer's guide to the Einstein 256 is published by SYNTAXSOFT of Burnley", and listing it among new products.

The Einstein 256 is the harder of the two machines to program and much the worse documented, so a contemporary programmer's guide would be genuinely useful today, not merely of historical interest.

No Copy Is Known Anywhere

Nobody has produced a copy, or even a photograph of a cover. Syntaxsoft also announced an "Einstein 256 Companion", which may be the same book under a different name, or may be a second one.

Can You Help?

If you have either title, or any Syntaxsoft documentation for the 256, please get in touch. We would scan it, return it to you, and credit you on this entry.
