About
Einstein Magazine & All Micro News was the house magazine of the UK Einstein User Group, published from New Romney in Kent by the Steam Computer Society.
This is issue 80, published at the end of 1996 and posted in a reused Discdrive card wallet. The chief editor explains another late issue and introduces a new editorial team; a side select switch to use both sides of 3.5 and 5.25 inch drives with XtalDOS; Ted Cawkwell's highlighted text readers in XBAS (40 and 80 columns) and colour printing from the Einstein on a Canon inkjet; Les Foskett's twin Einstein; and letters, one dated 16 November 1996 about that month's Stafford show.
Posted with it, and scanned separately: All Micro News No. 080.
Type-Ins Disc
Ted Cawkwell's Highlighted Text Reader from this issue, in its 40 and 80 column versions, is typed in, tested and ready to run on the Einstein Magazine No. 80 Listings Disc.
About This Scan
Scanned from an original by TatungBytes, with a searchable text layer. Private home addresses and private telephone numbers have been removed, including the editorial team's addresses and members' addresses on their letters. Names are kept. The redactions are painted into the page images and the searchable text was made afresh afterwards, so it holds nothing that was removed.
The Rest of the Run
The magazine ran from Einstein Monthly in 1987 to No. 111 in 2003. We have scanned Nos 76 to 80 and their companions ourselves; the other issues can be read on Einstein Reborn.
