About

Einstein Magazine & All Micro News was the house magazine of the UK Einstein user group. By 1996 it was being published from New Romney in Kent by the Steam Computer Society, under its chief editor A E Adams, six issues a year.

This is issue 79, twenty four A5 pages, typewritten and photocopied. The first page announces reduced subscriptions and explains the group's position in its own words:

We took over from those awfully nice people at Ipswich just as the final vestiges of Einstein support were about to be abandoned, and it was a hard struggle to get back up onto the financial knife-edge that we love so much.

The Ipswich people are the UK Einstein User Group, whose magazine of the time, Alternative Micro News, can be read on Einstein Reborn. The same editorial calls this the group's tenth birthday year, which puts its beginnings at about 1986.

About This Scan

Scanned from an original on 4 October 2026, with a searchable text layer. The magazine is reproduced in full, with one exception: private home addresses and telephone numbers have been blacked out, in the page images and in the text layer alike. That covers the member's address label on the mailing folder, the editor's own address in the mastheads, and two members' addresses and phone numbers printed in the loose newsletters. Names are left as printed. Nothing else has been altered.

The Rest of the Run

The magazine ran from Einstein Monthly in 1987 to No. 111 in 2003. We have scanned Nos 76 to 80 and their companions ourselves; the other issues can be read on Einstein Reborn. If you have All Micro News Vol 1 Nos 1 to 6, or anything after No. 111, we would love to hear from you.
