About

Einstein Magazine & All Micro News was the house magazine of the UK Einstein User Group, published from New Romney in Kent by the Steam Computer Society.

This is issue 77, published in 1995 to mark ten years of the group: a 76 page compendium of the best articles from earlier issues. A transportable Einstein built for business use, the TPC-2000, discs and DOS internals, the MOS monitor and scratchpad map, hardware projects (burglar alarm, sound DAC, joystick and composite video conversions), BASIC programs and the editor's account of a dispute over the official Einstein User magazine. Includes the two page supplementary insert sent with the issue. Pages 1 and 76 are a reused Discdrive Ltd warranty sheet, printed that way.

Type-Ins Disc

The five BASIC programs printed in this issue, David Williams's Map, Barchart and Plotter, Shaun Jeffery's Colour Blender and Stuart Marshall's Label Printer, are typed in, tested and ready to run on the Einstein Magazine No. 77 Listings Disc.

About This Scan

Scanned from an original by TatungBytes, with a searchable text layer. Private home addresses and private telephone numbers have been removed, including the editor's address in the masthead and members' addresses in letters and small ads. Names are kept. The redactions are painted into the page images and the searchable text was made afresh afterwards, so it holds nothing that was removed. The sheet of members' for sale letters posted with this issue is left out entirely.

The Rest of the Run

The magazine ran from Einstein Monthly in 1987 to No. 111 in 2003. We have scanned Nos 76 to 80 and their companions ourselves; the other issues can be read on Einstein Reborn.
