About
A blank Einstein disc image for a Gotek: forty tracks of ten 512 byte sectors, single sided, 190K, in the standard XtalDOS format with sector IDs 0 to 9 and no system tracks. Every sector is empty and the directory is clear.
It exists so that an Einstein with a Gotek can image its own discs. Copy BLANK190.DSK onto the Gotek’s USB stick once for each disc you mean to dump, boot a System Master, run BACKUP from drive 0 to drive 1, and the image on the stick becomes a sector by sector copy of the disc, deleted files and all. The guide Dump a Disc With Nothing but a Gotek has the seven steps, and Help Us Preserve the Einstein’s Software and Find What Was Lost says why we ask.
Made with the Einstein Disc Tools. BACKUP into a copy of it was checked in MAME against the original disc, 400 sectors of 400 identical. It has not yet been tried in a real Gotek under FlashFloppy; if you do, tell us how it went.
