Digital Research

Digital Research was founded by Gary Kildall in 1974 and created CP/M, the operating system that dominated 8-bit business computing before MS-DOS, along with a range of companion languages and graphics tools. This archive credits Digital Research with a substantial slice of that ecosystem on the Tatung Einstein: CBASIC and its compiler, the GSX graphics extension (1982), the Dr Draw and Dr Graph applications, a Display Manager, an Access Manager database tool, and an assembler toolkit - underlining just how much of the Einstein's business-computing capability rested on Digital Research's CP/M-era software.
