The UK Einstein User Group's newsletter ran monthly, often late, from November 1985. The last issue anyone has is Volume 2 Number 4, dated February 1987; it carries an undated insert from Graham Bettany and Mike Smallman saying the newsletter "was somewhat behind time" and that their first issue, retitled Einstein Monthly, would appear in July. The known run has an entry of its own.
An Open Question
Whether anything was issued between February and July 1987 is not established. Two small pointers suggest something may be missing. A private advert in 1990 offered "Einstein Monthly and U.K.E.U.G. Newsletter Vol. 2/2 back to first issue, November 1985 (40 issues)", where the known issues over that stretch number thirty. And when the magazine reached Number 100 it explained its numbering as running from the first newsletter, yet the known issues before Number 65 total sixty, four short. Four more newsletters, Volume 2 Numbers 5 to 8, would fill both gaps exactly; so would other explanations. We record it as a question, not a finding.
