About

Syntaxsoft of Burnley made the Speculator, the Spectrum emulator that gave the Einstein a second career as a games machine. This is the version for the Einstein 256, advertised in 1986 at thirty nine pounds ninety five.

Unlike the TC-01 version it plugged into the Z80 socket, inside the machine, which means it cannot be spotted from the outside and is easily thrown away with a dead computer.

No Copy Is Known

All the Speculator material in this library is for the TC-01. We have nothing at all for the 256 version: no unit, no ROM, no manual.

Can You Help?

If you have an Einstein 256, it is worth opening it up and looking at the processor socket. If there is a small board piggybacked there, please get in touch before removing anything.

We don't have a copy of this one yet. If you've got it, we'd love to add it to the archive.
