About

In late 1990 the user group press reported that "It is hoped that Chris Cook will have Quasar for sale", a game for the Einstein 256 written by Chris Cook as printed.

Very little software was written specifically for the Einstein 256, which had better graphics than the TC-01 but arrived too late to build a following. A game intended to use the 256's hardware properly, written in 1990, would be close to the last word in Einstein games development.

Announced Only

Whether Quasar was ever finished or sold is not known. The report is hopeful rather than definite.

Can You Help?

If you have an Einstein 256 disc called Quasar, finished or not, please get in touch. Unreleased and unfinished work is as worth preserving as anything that reached the shops, sometimes more so.
