About

This excellent kit features sprite generators, list variables, basic expander, F key define, find, disassembler & sprite filer tool as well as additional machine code routines

The Original Disc

The download is a flux dump of an original Solo Software disc. Side A’s label reads “Programmers Kit, Load XBAS before loading this disk, ISBN 1 851114 14 9”; the inlay is numbered 17-0048-0 and carries an “Einsoft Approved” badge. Its menu offers the GBAS demo, a disassembler, function keys, reserved words, a variables list, a sprite maker and loader, a stop-watch, collision detection, a shape maker and an introduction.

Running It

XBAS.COM is not on the disc. Load XBAS from the System Master, put in this disc and type RUN "LOADER"; or, with XBAS.COM copied onto the disc, boot it and type XBAS LOADER.

Two Versions

This disc carries GB.OBJ, the GBAS BASIC extension, with its own set of patches in GBAS.XBS. The image the library held before has GB2.OBJ instead, differing in 133 bytes, with different patches and a slightly revised GBASDEMO: two versions of the same product.

About this Dump

Dumped on 26 September 2026 with a Greaseweazle V4 and an original Einstein 3″ drive, and checked with the Einstein Disc Tools. Side A read all 400 sectors with good checksums on the first pass. Side B, blank-labelled, was later used for other programs and has damaged sectors, so it is not included.
