About
Counter Blaster / Maths Tank is an educational game for the Tatung Einstein, published by Solo Software.
The Original Disc
The download is a flux dump of an original Solo Software disc. Side A’s label reads “Counter Blast/Maths Tank”, “Load XBAS before loading this disk” and “ISBN 1 851114 08 4”. Side B carries a blank Solo Software label and was never formatted, so only side A is in the package. The inlay, catalogue number 17-0037-5, carries an “Einsoft Approved” badge.
The disc’s own menu names the two games Counter-Blast and Maths Tank, both Xtal BASIC programs; Counter-Blast’s title screen reads “Copyright Solo Software”.
Running It
From the inlay: “First load BASIC from your System Master Disk by typing XBAS followed by the (ENTER) key. Wait until BASIC is loaded. Next put in this program disk with Side A uppermost and type RUN ‘LOADER’ (ENTER).” With XBAS.COM copied onto the disc instead, boot side A and type XBAS LOADER. Choose 1 or 2, or E to end.
