About

Computer Clearways announced two products in 1987: the "Super Six Brain Transplant", an HD64180 processor with a 512K upgrade on the Tatung Pipe, at "Around £250.00", and a Bus Monitor at "Around £40.00". "THE 512K UPGRADE ON DISPLAY" was promised for the April 1988 Einstein show.

Replacing the Z80 with an HD64180 is an ambitious thing to do to a home computer. It would have made the Einstein a substantially different machine.

Shown, but Not Known to Have Been Sold

It was displayed. Whether anyone could actually buy one is another matter, and we have found no evidence that they could.

Can You Help?

If you saw this at the 1988 show, bought one, or have one fitted to a machine, please get in touch. An Einstein with an unexpected processor board inside it would be a real find.
