About
"A BRAND NEW BOOK" advertised by B & H Computers in 1990, at six pounds, with the sales line "its only 6p a Game". That arithmetic puts one hundred games in it. It was still being referred to in 1996 as "a book published by B & H on how to convert these games".
The Speculator let an Einstein load Spectrum games from tape, but each game needed the right header and interrupt codes. Books of those codes are what made the emulator usable, and this is the one we have never seen.
Not the Booklet We Hold
The library holds Beyond the Spectrum Emulator, described on its own title page as the second booklet of a Spectrum emulator guide by Leslie J Smith, dated 1986. B and H's book is advertised four years later. On the evidence in front of us they are different publications, though we would be glad to be shown otherwise.
Can You Help?
If you have a book of Speculator codes with B and H or Merlin on it, please get in touch. We would scan it, return it, and credit you here.
