AMTEL

Syntaxsoft's Amstrad emulator for the Einstein, not to be confused with ACC's AmTAT.

About

An Amstrad emulator for the Einstein from Syntaxsoft, announced in 1986. In 1987 its author told Einstein User that Syntaxsoft had sold it incomplete, and that it "runs under Tatung/XTAL DOS".

Syntaxsoft had already done this once, successfully, with the Speculator for Spectrum software. An Amstrad emulator was the obvious next move, since the Amstrad CPC and the Einstein share the Z80 and a broadly similar class of hardware.

Not the Same as AmTAT

The library holds AmTAT, which is a separate product from ACC. AMTEL is Syntaxsoft's, and we have no copy of it.

Can You Help?

If you have an Einstein disc labelled AMTEL, or any Syntaxsoft disc you cannot identify, please get in touch. An emulator its own author considered unfinished is exactly the kind of software that vanishes.

We don't have a copy of this one yet. If you've got it, we'd love to add it to the archive.
