About
A hard disc for the Einstein from ACC Computer Services of Abergele, supplied with System Five. The 10MB model was a thousand and twenty nine pounds in 1986, later cut to four hundred and ninety nine plus VAT, with a 20MB model at the same price by 1987.
A thousand pounds for a hard disc, on a computer that cost a few hundred, is a reminder of who some Einstein owners were. These were bought by businesses and serious users, not by people playing Spectrum games.
No Manual or Software Known
We have neither the software that drove it nor any documentation. Hard disc interfaces are useless without their drivers, so this is one where the paperwork and the discs matter more than the hardware.
Can You Help?
If you have an ACC hard disc, its manual, or the discs that came with it, please get in touch.
