Software Toolworks

The Software Toolworks was an American software company started in 1980 by Walt Bilofsky, initially selling adapted CP/M and Heathkit software from a converted garage in Sherman Oaks, California, before growing into a major publisher best known for Chessmaster and Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. This archive credits the company with a C compiler ("C") for the Tatung Einstein, consistent with Toolworks' early-1980s roots supplying CP/M-compatible development tools to a wide range of microcomputers.
