Infocom

Infocom was founded in 1979 by a group of MIT-affiliated programmers in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and became the defining publisher of text-adventure "interactive fiction" through the 1980s, prized for its sophisticated natural-language parser and celebrated titles such as Zork and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (co-written with Douglas Adams), before being acquired by Activision in 1986. This archive credits Infocom with an unusually complete run of its catalogue ported to the Tatung Einstein: Zork I, II and III, Deadline, Planetfall, Wishbringer, Sorcerer, Seastalker, Infidel, Ballyhoo and Hitchhiker's Guide as originals, alongside Suspended, Spellbreaker and Leather Goddesses of Phobos as later ports.

Fifteen credited titles make Infocom one of the richest and most historically significant single publishers represented in this entire archive.
