About

Superdraw is a software application for the Tatung Einstein, published by Bell Software.

It is a menu-driven suite of Einstein BASIC programs. Its programs menu, headed “© BELL SOFTWARE 1988”, offers Drawing Routines, DataLog Database, Graph Plotter, Address Book, Xtal Basic, Xtal DOS or CP/M, and FileLink File Merger; the main menu adds directory, erase, list, copy, drive, font and password options and carries the credit “Written By J.P.Barker”. The disc also holds eleven font files and a handful of sample pictures.

Running It

The disc’s typed label reads “BELL SOFTWARE / SUPER DRAW / Load XBAS and run MENU”. XBAS.COM is not on the disc, so BASIC has to come from a system disc. The disc boots XtalDOS 2.02 (“© Xtal 1983-86”). In MAME, put this disc in drive 0 and any disc with XBAS.COM in drive 1, type 1:XBAS at the 0: prompt, then RUN "MENU".

Can You Help? The Manual

Superdraw came with a printed instruction booklet, and we do not have a copy of it. If you own one and could scan or photograph it for the archive, please get in touch.

Files on the Disc

Side B holds the software. Side A is formatted but blank. This copy was a working disc rather than a sealed master: alongside the locked program and font files are unlocked picture files (.PIC, .LIN, .ELP), and the directory still shows several deleted names. Nothing has been cleaned up in the images.

About this Dump

The ZIP package holds both sides of the disc, dumped in September 2026 with a Greaseweazle and an original Einstein 3" drive. Each side is provided as a raw flux capture (.scp), a MAME flux image (.mfi) and a decoded disk image (.dsk). Every sector on both sides read with a good CRC on the first pass. The blank side is included because it is part of the disc.
