Starquake

Control BLOB to fix an unstable planet. Navigate 512 screens, find 9 core parts, and use platforms to traverse the giant, platform-heavy labyrinth.

The Einstein release was published by Merlin Software, the label of B+H Computers of Southowram, Halifax. The inlay reads “© MERLIN SOFTWARE 1987” and “Under licence from BUBBLE BUS software”, and the title screen credits Dave Collins and Stephen Crow.

Running It

From the inlay: place the disk in drive 0, press CTRL BREAK, type STARQ and press ENTER. Controls: O or F6 left, P or F7 right, Q or F1 up and pick up, A or F0 down and platform, BREAK to pause, SHIFT and ESC to abort. A joystick also works.

The inlay offers “a high quality printed map of the Einstein Teleport codes in Starquake” for £1.00 from B&H Computers. We do not have one. If you own a copy and could scan or photograph it for the archive, please get in touch.

Files on the Disc

The file named 1 is a byte-for-byte copy of STARQ.COM.

About this Dump

The ZIP package holds side A of an original disc, dumped in September 2026 with a Greaseweazle and an original Einstein 3" drive, as a raw flux capture (.scp), a MAME flux image (.mfi) and a decoded disk image (.dsk). Every sector read with a good CRC on the first pass. Side B of this disc is a second copy of the same contents, but one of its tracks is damaged and unreadable, so it is not included; nothing is missing as a result.
