Computer Scrabble for the Tatung Einstein was released in 1985 by Leisure Genius, making it one of the earliest official digital adaptations of the classic board game.
The title screen reads “LEISURE GENIUS® PRESENTS COMPUTER SCRABBLE” and “SOFTWARE © 1985 LEISURE GENIUS®”, and notes that Leisure Genius is the registered trademark of Winchester Holdings Limited.
Running It
The disc has no DOS directory: boot it and it goes straight into the game, with the Leisure Genius screen, then the title, then the board asking for the first player’s name.
About this Dump
Dumped from a physical disc with a Greaseweazle V4 and an original 3-inch drive on 3 October 2026. Both sides hold the same data, sector for sector, so the zip names them SIDE1 and SIDE2 in the order they were read; the data is identical to the disc image long in our library. All 400 sectors of each side read with good CRCs on the first pass. The zip holds both sides as raw flux (.scp), MAME images (.mfi) and sector images (.dsk), with nothing cleaned up.
