Punchy's title screen in MAME on the Tatung Einstein: lives, bonus, the key controls and a choice of Slow, Normal or Fast

About

It’s based on the traditional British Punch and Judy puppet show, reimagined as a side-scrolling arcade adventure.

Released as Einsoft Punchy, catalogue number 05-2681-9, for the “Einstein Colour Micro Computer”. The inlay credits the artwork “© 1985 RJL Smith & Associates, Much Wenlock, Shropshire”, gives “Copyright © Tatung (UK) Ltd 1984”, and says “Program produced by Mr Micro Ltd. P.O. Box 24, Swinton, Manchester”.

From the inlay: “Punch has locked Judy away in the Punch & Judy booth and Judy has called upon brave Bobby to rescue her. In true Punch & Judy tradition, you guide PC Bobby over the screens avoiding the objects that are thrown at you.” There are sixteen screens; at the end of each “a voice asks you to ‘ROCK THE BABY’”. Catch three of Judy’s sausages and the GRAPH key carries Bobby to the next screen unharmed.

Controls

From the inlay: Z left, X right, SHIFT jump, DEL duck, GRAPH use sausages, H hold screen, G resume playing; or a joystick, where fire jumps, forward uses sausages and back ducks. The title screen offers Slow, Normal and Fast.
