About
Einstein Simplex is sold as Micro-Simplex, “Small Business Accounts & V.A.T. made Simple”. The disc label reads “Einstein-Simplex Vsn 1.0 – PROGRAM MASTER”, on a Tatung disc.
From the case:
The Retail Version of MICRO-SIMPLEX is a program for the owner of the smaller business whose takings are mostly cash and who keeps weekly accounts. MICRO-SIMPLEX is based on Vyners Simplex ‘D’ Cash Book as used by many thousands of businesses, but if you have used another system it doesn’t matter. … At the end of the week you get Weekly Reports. At the end of the VAT Quarter you press a button and your VAT Return is done for you. As often as you like you can produce a Trading and Profit and Loss Account simply by inserting your Opening and Closing Stock figures. … Typical businesses who will benefit are Newsagents, Grocers, Chemists, Publicans, Hardware Stores, Garages and many, many others.
Running It
Boot side A and type LOGO. LOGO.COM is Xtal BASIC 4.13 under another name; it runs the title screen, and the program is a set of Xtal BASIC modules that chain into one another, across both sides of the disc.

About this Dump
Dumped from the program master in a boxed copy, with its spiral-bound manual, using a Greaseweazle V4 and an original 3-inch drive on 3 October 2026. Every file reads with good CRCs; two sectors in unused space at the end of side A do not. The disc also carries deleted files, most of them overwritten, from before the program was written to it, including small VAT test programs. The zip holds both sides as raw flux (.scp), MAME images (.mfi) and sector images (.dsk), with nothing cleaned up.
