About

Assembly Language Course is the disc from Glentop’s Einstein Assembly Language Course, in their Dr Watson series: a book by Mike Bayliss “with software by Graham Rounce”, boxed with this disc. The case promises “a full assembler, disassembler & tutorials on disc”, and the book is archived here: Glentop- Assembly Language Course. It is also listed on tatungeinstein.co.uk as ‘Assembly Code Tutor’.

From the back of the book: “The complete Z80 assembler provided on disc includes: symbolic labels, assembler directives, save/load, hard copy, insert/delete. … A disassembler is also included which will take a machine-code program and turn it into more readily understandable assembly language. Also provided on the disc is a binary, BCD and hexadecimal tutor program, demonstrating various mathematical notations and instructions used in assembly language programming.”

Running It

Boot the disc and type the program’s name: ASSEM, DISSEM, TUTOR or STRIP.

About this Dump

Dumped from the disc in a boxed copy of the course, with a Greaseweazle V4 and an original 3-inch drive on 3 October 2026. ASSEM, DISSEM and TUTOR are the same programs as in the copy long in our library (which pads two of them with blank space); that copy has SEQUENCE.COM where this disc has STRIP.COM, the file its label names. The zip holds a disc image (.dsk), and a MAME image (.mfi) and flux image (.scp) generated from it, all three holding the same 400 sectors.
